We invite you to send to contact@iascongress2024.org your proposal for communication on one of the 6 themes of the Congress before November 1, 2023, indicating the chosen theme, a title, the project in a maximum of 200 words, and a few lines introducing yourself. Presentations, in French, English, German, or Italian are allocated 20 minutes. The 6 themes of the Congress are:

1. The reception of Arthurian Literature in the Post-Medieval Period

2. Retelling, Adapting, Repeating

3. The transmission of Arthurian Romances: Manuscripts, Prints, and Translations

4. History and Fiction

5. Arthurian Objects

6. Merlin

It is also possible to propose roundtable discussions on a free topic. Please indicate in your email: a title, a 200-word presentation of your project, and a few lines introducing the speakers. Roundtable discussions are allocated 1 hour or 1 hour 30 minutes.

Second-year master’s students and first-year PhD students have the opportunity to propose either a paper during the junior sessions of the Congress or a poster presentation of their research. For papers, please refer to the relevant paragraph above. In the case of a poster presentation, please indicate the title of your research topic, provide a 200-word description of it, and include a few lines introducing yourself. In both cases, please attach a letter of recommendation from your research advisor.

Click here for tips on designing posters. A prize for the best poster will be awarded at the General Meeting of the International Arthurian Society (€150 prize and one-year IAS membership). Poster presentations, in French, English, German, orr Italian should last 5 minutes.

All participants (excluding accompanying persons) must be members of the International Arthurian Society at the time of the Congress.

Papers presented at the conference will be published in the “Senefiance” collection of the Presses universitaires de Provence (after double-blind peer review).
